bio
Jeremy Charles Alexander received his Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture from the University of Kentucky in 2005. At an early age of 13, his love of art, drawing, painting, sketching, and photography, combined with his love of plants and the natural environment, led him to his interest in Landscape Architecture. For over 20+ years he has been working towards establishing a name for himself in the field. His passion for plants and drawing with a focus in residential design was discovered early on during his education career, and continues to be the field he is most interested in.
Jeremy worked through college at retail garden and landscape centers, acquiring knowledge on what homeowner’s want to see in their landscape. He then began to focus on design and implementation, managing multiple landscape crews, meeting with clients, presenting proposals, and creating beautiful gardens. For a brief time after college he also managed and ran a locally owned and operated high end gourmet produce market that helped to connect people to the garden, all the way from the farm and the growing of the produce, to the table and the eating of fresh healthy cooked meals. He enjoyed being immersed in the ever increasingly popular trend of bringing people closer to their gardens through the use of food and cooking.
Mr. Alexander has a unique talent and interest in the graphic design of landscape projects, both big and small. From initial concept sketches, to large colored master plan drawings of exquisite estates, to tiny thumbnail sketches of intimate gardens, he loves to draw and he loves to create beautiful places. Throughout his college and work career, he has enjoyed spending a great deal of time producing hand drawings and renderings for clients, designing and laying out large presentation sheets, and helping with marketing efforts. At his previous employer he established a successful web presence by designing and initiating the work for a new website, as well as tapping into useful and valuable social media markets.
Jeremy is a Louisville native and a member of the Young Professional Association of Louisville (YPAL) and the University of Kentucky Alumni Association. He plans to take the next step in his career by finishing the Landscape Architecture Registration Exam (LARE) and becoming a Registered Landscape Architect. He also plans on obtaining the LEED AP (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification in the coming years. He currently lives in the wonderful historic Silver Hills Neighborhood in up and coming New Albany, overlooking all of downtown Louisville, with his beautiful wife Jamie, 6 year old daughter Jocelyn, 2 year old son Kai, and dog Kenzie.
